getting in the groove

We are both llearning to ride, jim driving and me learning to be a good passenger.  jim participated in the  fort worth HOG skills day a couple weeks ago and that was so helpful.  the folks there are not only friendly and welcoming but very knowledgeable and focused on everyones safety.

on Saturday, october 4, we took a ride to strawn, texas, to eat at Mary's.  they are supposed to have the BEST chicken fried steak.  it was good but certainly not the best we've ever had.  Fun ride though.

on Wednesday, October 8, we did a shorter ride north from where we live up to Krum and then home.  I LOVE riding!  Hopefully I will get  my own bike at some point.  I already know what i want.  a softail delux.  red.

I'm so anxious to go on a longer trip and maybe spend a couple nights.  the hill country or into oklahoma and arkansas would be great. smaller roads, pretty scenery and plenty places to stop for food and butt breaks.

today we went to a little store in maypearl, texas.  big b's leather.  all they carry is biker outer wear.  we both got leather jackets, leather vests, leather gloves and jim got leather chaps.  i have to go back for my chaps because i was not wearing boots.  she trims them to the correct length.  so another trip to see Cupcake!  lol!  pictures later of our new duds!

tomorrow we plan to go to FW harley to get boots and rain gear.  Whew!  plenty of money being spent but these are items that we will not need to replace during our riding years.  need to get what we want and what fits so that we are happy with them.

sunday is the FW HOG picnic and we are really looking forward to that.  a good time to meet more folks.  motorcycle riding is going to give us a great social circle.  FINALLY!!!
