Night number one

The wonderful town of Childress!  I'm kidding of course.  Some of the west Texas towns are far from pretty.  But you have to get through them to get out of Texas and get to New Mexico and Colorado.
Lots of highway slabbing today which is not my favorite motorcycling, but neccessary.
I was a happy camper as you can tell just being on my bike on a trip!  Yes, it's hot in Texas, but I have all my safety gear on.  Mesh jacket with armor on the shoulders, elbows and back.  Not willing to risk a bad injury.  And when I'm on the road the air flows through my mesh jacket so its not very uncomfortable.  Just a tank top under it.

We stopped off at  Red River Harley Davidson in Wichita Falls, Texas.

The above picture is of the horse sculpture in front of the dealership.  Be sure to enlarge it to see the detail.  fabulous!
Visiting in the shade before we took to the road again and rode on.

The group we are with are all wonderful folks.  There is a Mexican restaurant next door to the hotel here in Childress so we gathered there for dinner.   And then the hotel folks let us gather in the breakfast area to enjoy some conversation and beer.

Tomorrow morning we leave here at 7:30 am and riding to Las Vegas, NM.  Then we should encounter some cooler temps.

Later!
